Uncharted PC Controls & Launcher Settings

Updated · Checked against SuperMedo Windows v0.3.6, spacepepperoni Linux v0.3.6-linux.81

Use WASD to move, the mouse to look, right mouse to aim and left mouse to fire. Keyboard, mouse and controller input work together in SuperMedo Windows v0.3.6 and spacepepperoni Linux v0.3.6-linux.81. Open Controls to change bindings before starting a game.

Windows uses Play, Game, Display, Controls, Advanced and Log. The current Linux navigation is Library, Settings, Controls, Files and Advanced. Use the matching tables below to find an option; the PS4 button names are retained so you can match the game's prompts.

Default controls

The default controller column uses the launcher's button names. A / Cross, for example, is the default south face button. Keep the PS4 prompt name in the first column in mind when using a controller with different printed labels.

Left Alt releases the captured pointer while held. Use it when you need to reach another window, then return to the game. Insert opens the runtime's settings menu. These two keys are reserved by the program.

Esc and Enter both send Options. Use the game screen's prompts for the action you want; these keys are not a dedicated exit command. The default Tab binding sends the touchpad action, while the default controller mapping sends Back / Share for that action.

Change a binding

Make changes in the launcher's Controls page. Start the game again after editing bindings so it uses the new input configuration.

  1. Open Controls in the launcher.
  2. Find the action you want to change.
  3. Click one of its keyboard binding boxes.
  4. Press the key or mouse button, or move the wheel, to assign it.
  5. Start the game with the new binding.

Each keyboard action has two binding slots. Use the second slot when you want another key for the same action. The clear control beside a slot removes that binding. If you assign a key that was already used by another action, it moves away from the old action; check both rows after changing it.

Side mouse buttons and the wheel can be bound. Keep Insert and Left Alt for their reserved functions. Use Default keys if you want to return the keyboard mapping to the table above.

For a controller, use the Controller section's per-action button choices. Set a different button for the PS4 action you want, then restart the game. Default controller buttons restores the controller mapping.

The launcher writes bindings to input.ini. Prefer the launcher when editing them so the saved settings and generated input file stay together. On Linux, an explicitly set BB_INPUT_CONFIG can select another input-file path; otherwise the file is under the program's data directory.

Game settings

Windows — Game

Setting Options Default What it does
SettingGame folder OptionsExisting collection directory DefaultEmpty until selected What it doesSelects the directory containing the PS4 collection executables and data
SettingSaves folder OptionsDirectory path Defaultuser\ beside the program when left empty What it doesChooses where saves and shader caches are kept
SettingSeparate game folders OptionsIndividual paths for Uncharted 1, 2 and 3 DefaultEmpty; collection folder used What it doesOverrides the shared folder for a game kept separately
SettingLanguage OptionsListed console languages DefaultEnglish (United States) What it doesSelects the console language used for text and speech
SettingPlayer name OptionsText DefaultEmpty What it doesSupplies the name where the game uses the PSN name

Use Game files & version before changing directories. If only one game is missing, check that game's executable and its separate-folder field. Preserve the selected saves location when you move the program.

Linux — Files

Setting or action Options Default What it does
Setting or actionGame folder OptionsPrepared CUSA02320 v1.00 directory DefaultEmpty until selected What it doesSupplies the collection data for the Library
Setting or actionSaves folder OptionsDirectory path Default<game folder>/Saves What it doesSets the parent location for saves and shader cache
Setting or actionPer-game saves entries OptionsUncharted 1, 2, 3 entries DefaultNot listed What it doesOpens the corresponding game's saves
Setting or actionClear shader cache OptionsAction DefaultNot listed What it doesRemoves compiled shaders so they can be rebuilt after a graphics problem

The current Linux interface puts the folder and cache controls in Files. Language and Player name are in Settings, in its Console section. The per-game save folders are named Uncharted 1, Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3.

Clear the shader cache only when you need to rebuild it, such as a broken picture after an update. The next game start will need to build shaders again. Keep saves and shader cache distinct when deciding what to change.

Display settings

Windows — Display

Setting Options Default What it does
SettingFullscreen OptionsOn / off DefaultOff What it doesUses fullscreen output
SettingPresentation OptionsMailbox, FIFO, FIFO Relaxed, Immediate DefaultMailbox What it doesChooses how frames reach the display; FIFO uses VSync, Immediate permits tearing
SettingFrame rate Options60, 120, 144, 165, 240 FPS Default60 FPS What it doesSelects the game's rate; 144, 165 and 240 are experimental
SettingWindow size Options1280×720, 1600×900, 1920×1080, 2560×1440, 3840×2160 Default1920×1080 What it doesSets output size; the game renders at 1920×1080 internally
SettingUpscaling OptionsFSR 1, Smooth (bilinear) DefaultFSR 1 What it doesScales the rendered image to the output size
SettingSharpening OptionsOff, Low, Medium, High, Maximum DefaultMedium What it doesAdjusts sharpening after scaling
SettingAnti-aliasing OptionsOff, TAA, FSR 3.1, FSR 4, DLSS; FSR 4.1.1 when its model assets are present DefaultOff What it doesSmooths edges at the game's internal resolution; DLSS requires GeForce RTX
SettingAA sharpness OptionsOff, Low, Medium, High DefaultLow (0.2) What it doesAdjusts sharpening for the selected AA mode
SettingFrame generation OptionsOff, AMD FSR 3, NVIDIA DLSS DefaultOff What it doesAdds generated frames; DLSS FG requires RTX 40 or 50 hardware
SettingFrame generation multiplier Options2×, 3×, 4× Default2× What it doesChooses generated-frame output; 3× and 4× require RTX 50
SettingShow the FPS counter OptionsOn / off DefaultOff What it doesShows the frame-rate display

Start with 60 FPS and the default AA and frame-generation settings while checking a new installation. Change one option at a time so you can identify the setting involved if a problem appears.

Window size changes output size; the games' internal picture remains 1920×1080. The upscaling choice enlarges or resizes that picture. Anti-aliasing is a separate setting that works before the games' post-processing.

Frame generation inserts frames between the game's own frames. FSR 3 offers 2× on any GPU; DLSS frame generation uses RTX 40 for 2×, or RTX 50 for up to 4×. Use Mailbox or Immediate presentation and a display suited to that output rate. Generated frames add latency, and menus and prerecorded cutscenes keep their own presentation. Start with a 60 or 120 FPS game rate if you enable it.

The FSR 4.1.1 choice appears only when its model assets are present. Choose from the options actually shown by your installed program. For a 4 GB graphics card, keep both anti-aliasing and frame generation off to reduce video-memory pressure.

Linux — Settings

Linux carries the base display choices above and adds 30 FPS, 1280×800, Steam Deck mode, and the Console settings. Outside Steam Deck mode, the base display defaults are the same as the Windows defaults above.

Setting Options Default What it does
SettingSteam Deck mode OptionsOn / off DefaultOn when SteamOS is detected What it doesApplies the Deck settings and limits unsupported options
SettingFrame rate in Deck mode Options30 or 60 FPS Default60 FPS What it doesSets the Deck mode's game-rate target
SettingWindow size in Deck mode Options1280×800 Default1280×800 What it doesUses the Deck screen's output size; locked while mode is on
SettingPresentation in Deck mode OptionsFIFO DefaultFIFO What it doesUses the mode's presentation setting; locked while on
SettingFullscreen in Deck mode OptionsOn DefaultOn What it doesKeeps fullscreen enabled while mode is on
SettingAnti-aliasing in Deck mode OptionsAvailable supported choices DefaultOff What it doesStarts without added AA; FSR 4, FSR 4.1.1 and DLSS are unavailable in this mode
SettingFrame generation in Deck mode OptionsOff or FSR 3 DefaultOff What it doesLeaves DLSS FG and 3×/4× unavailable in this mode
SettingLanguage OptionsListed console languages DefaultEnglish (United States) What it doesSets the console text and speech language
SettingPlayer name OptionsText DefaultEmpty What it doesSupplies the console player name

Turn Steam Deck mode off to restore the values you had before enabling it. While it is on, the output size, presentation and fullscreen fields are locked. Use 30 FPS when you want a lower target without changing the other Deck settings.

Controls settings

These controls apply to both recommended projects.

Setting Options Default What it does

Keep GPU readbacks → Default (relaxed) for ordinary play. Off is experimental for floating NPCs or characters inside walls and can turn weapons into black cubes. Precise is slower. If you try a different value for a particular problem, record it so you can restore the default.

Leave Environment empty unless you are applying a specific setting you understand. For update behavior and keeping your current saves, use Update the port program.

On Linux, open the log through Advanced → Show the log. Its last_run.log is saved in the chosen saves folder, with older logs rotated through last_run.4.log. Copy the relevant log before another launch replaces the latest one.

When input does not respond

Before changing a binding:

  1. Close the in-game settings menu if it is open.
  2. Release held keys, mouse buttons and controller buttons, then try the input again.
  3. If a controller still does not respond and several are connected, close the game, disconnect the other controllers, then restart with only the intended controller connected.

The game receives neutral input while the settings menu is open. Buttons held as a menu or text dialog closes stay blocked until released. The runtime selects the first controller it finds, so isolating your intended controller avoids selecting another device.

If the problem remains, open Controls and check the binding for the exact action. If you just changed it, restart the game. If another action stopped responding, check whether its key moved when you reused that key elsewhere.

For mouse-camera problems, check Look around with the mouse, sensitivity and the mouse invert-Y option. Hold Left Alt only while you want to free the pointer. For a controller action, check the per-action controller mapping and try restoring its default before changing other settings.

If the problem continues, record the selected game, project version, controller model, affected action and current binding. Include the last-run log in a problem report. Keep hardware-model details with that report so the maintainer can distinguish detection from a remapping problem.
